IPS — SMPS-Based Integrated Power Supply
Continuous, regulated AC and DC power for railway signalling circuits in RE and Non-RE areas — Stations, LC Gates, IBH and Auto Huts.
As per RDSO Specification RDSO/SPN/165/2023, Version 4.0

signalling loads, RE and Non-RE areas
main/standby inverter automatic changeover
modular architecture, hot-swappable modules
Features
Modular power conversion
Hot-swappable FRBC, Inverter, AC-AC and DC-DC converter modules on active load sharing; automatic fallback to AVR / AC-AC converter.
Battery management
Auto float/boost charging with temperature compensation, per-cell health monitoring and under-voltage isolation; LMLA, VRLA and other RDSO-approved batteries (110 V; 120/200/300 AH).
Feeds for every signalling load
110 V DC fused feeds — relays, axle counters, block circuits, panel indication, data logger, EI, VDU, point machines and KAVACH.
Monitored, locally and remotely
Status Monitoring Panel in the ASM's room with staged battery-discharge alarms; module faults and section-wise V/I reported to RDPMS per RDSO/SPN/257/2025.
Protected
Coordinated Type-1/Type-2 surge protection per IEC 61643 and IEC 62305-4; safety and reliability per RDSO/SPN/144.
